Who out there keeps the secondary vine right at the node where the pumpkin is?
and... where in the world do you train this vine so it doesnt get in the way? I remember someone posting a pic of this a while back but I couldn't find it.

I have always removed mine if it is on the same side of plant the pumpkin is. But I have left them if they were opposite the pumpkin. You some how would have to bend it to the opposite side of plant...

Too much to worry about...especially if itZ on the same side....not worth a mid season disapointment due to stem split....

I couldn't help but notice the last few years in pictures, that some of the largest pumpkins have the secondary vine right at the pumpkin still attached. It peaked my interest enough that I asked several people at Niagara their opinions on the matter.... This year, I will try to leave the secondary at the pumpkin if in a good position.
