I'm growing two new winter squash varieties this year (Chirimen and Seminole pumpkin), and as they're starting to run, the leaves are starting to turn silvery white. The coloring is mainly focused around the veins of the leaves. I don't think it's powdery mildew, since my other cucurbits are fine and it doesn't have the PM look (and it's too early for it in any event), but I'm not sure whether it's natural coloring or some other disease to be concerned about. Anybody have any knowledge of these squash varieties and their coloring tendencies?

I think it has to do with the type of squash. Some of my gourds have that look you are describing.

Very common in hybrids...they actually are resistant to powdery mildew when they look like this.
