Well the pumpkins are half way under water. 3 inches is toooo much rain. Major flooding in indiana. Hope they suck up all that water and grow like crazy now! Anyone else having problems?

If I didn't move my patch to the top of a hill last year everything would not be growing well at all. Fortunately my new patch drains easily.

We are in one of the worse droughts we have seen in a long time. Combine that with the severe heat we are having and it makes for a long season,,, LOL. Can not keep the water going enough to even keep up.

Lots of rain here also. Had like 2-3 inches in an hour last night. Garden had quite a bit of water in it but there is a large drain in the one corner of the garden. Still way too much damn rain this year. Marrow seems to be liking it as do the maters and corn.

Ryan, look at Jeff Zoellner's Diary from last year, his patch looked like a monsoon hit his patch it was flooded so bad. Jeff stuck with it and grew him a 1663 lber that went 12% heavy.
I would post a pic of Jeff's patch but cant find his diary after 10 min of looking,,,but the pics are here on this site somewhere ,,lol

This latest round of rain couldn't have come at a worse time...ready to pollinate and the new growth is yellowish green from all the rain. DRY OUT for cryin' out loud!

Yeah im not giving up. Yall said the plants LOVE water!! Haha. This year just been bad. Flooding, damaging straight line winds, and big ass hail. These plants are troops! I'll tell ya one thing, my giant sunflowers are lovin it. Sunflowers are now over 6' tall. Heard around Indy they got like 7-8 inches of rain and had to rescue people.

We have had a LOT of small rains here, but fortunately nothing very heavy. Still the lack of sunshine hurts. It makes the 4th rainy year in a row. I'm glad I did more work last fall digging out my drainage ditches and raising up the patches.
