Looking for how to apply it directly to node tap roots. I've mixed it into the surrounding soil and replaced the soil under the root. But, I wonder if the tap root actually comes into contact with the innoculant. I'm using the granular stuff. Do you drop it directly underneath and cover over or try to put it directly on the surface underthe tap root?

I use probably way more than necessary. 2 lbs in the planting site and another 3-4 lbs per plant burying. I put a healthy dose under each node. The top tap root has to plow thru that area to get into soil so I figure putting on top is not necessary. I occasionally get some on top but just by accident.

Sounds like a chewing tobacco comercial-just a pinch between the ground and node is all you need!
