I know Thad mentioned on his website you can train the vines to go over OR under the pvc grid, but just curious as to what all growers chose?
I am thinking under may be better for most of the vines if i plan on using trenches this year instead of just covering them with soil.
Obviously the main 10'+ out will go over the Lateral pipes...but what about secondary vines that should have no reason to get moved later in the season?
So, over or under?

Honestly in the years I have used it sometimes the vine itself makes the decision for you. Doesn't matter either way.

I put my system up when i first put the plants out...they always run over, never had problems with it.

I fired them up today...is it normal for the nozzles to get clogged if working around them?
i had to take them apart a couple times and blow them out, then they worked better again

i would think that the clog is coming from the dust or particles from cutting the pvc, if you dont clean the pipes out before hand you'll have problems. I,ve never had a clog.

yep, every one of mine, the last one in the row had tiny little pvc pieces clogging it. WOuld have been pretty easy to blow out with air compressor in the shop when building. I did find that some dirt gets in when assembling in field. I cut all end caps off and put on valves to flush out innitially and periodically per Toddmod's recomendation. I dont have a inline filter yet and get some sediment pumping out of old well, with gas powered pump.

If the sprinklers are not working right, you do have a piece of pvc from cutting it with a hack saw. Been there done that. I use a pipe cutter now "minney" cutter works for me, and no more clogs here. I always flush it first before putting on the sprinkler! Just in case something crawls into it during the winter"buggs" will make a home in there! Doing the sprinkler system now!

Mine has been priceless with the heat we have been getting, every season i like it more and more! I use it to cool the plants, water them, not to mention that i'll use it during the season to replenish the rootzone with nutrients.

A little trix I have been doing on mine. Take a small nail or something pointy and push it into the nossle head a bit this opens up the hole to a little bit bigger size and seems to help with some ogf the smaller clogs.

Instead of the min sprinklers, would it work just to drill small holes in the pvs at 5 or 6 ' intervals?

I agree with John..I bored mine out with a slightly larger drill bit and they clog a lot less..
