I am debating and want some opinions. I mainly use the christmas tree pattern, but this year my plant will be kind of a modified shape due to my growing area. I will have more secondary vines on one side than the other. But my question is this: I have some space that is behind the main stump area that I am debating whether to let a secondary grow into that area by bending it through a tight space or let a back main fill it up. If I go with a back main and just chopp off all of the growth so it looks like a secondary vine, will it provide power to my fruit like any other vine or is it different since it is coming out of the stump? Thanks, Jim

some growers grow a back set up terts off the 1st set of secondary vines on each side of the stump to fill in space.

It will help power the fruit. you can grow some side vines off it if that will help fill the space
