Its been in the mid 90s all week with no relief in sight. My early fair plant is handling the heat pretty well but some of the new leaves on my fall plants are showing some wilt. This is my first attempt at a fall plant so Im not sure if thats normal or not. Could it be that Im not giving them enough water in the evenings? I have a shade cloth over them in the afternoon but they do get full morning sun. Could that be too much? I have misted them a little bit but Ive heard it ages the leaves so Im hesitant about over doing it. Any suggestions??

Mist them.....if it dieZ the leaveZ wont get any older....one can also shade them too......shade cloth around 22% works well and still growZem big...huh Swen.....

Hot West Tennessee

Upper 90's here Tammy, new record high 99 today breaking 1911 record. Shade and mist is all we can do. They will have some damage any way. 7 day forcast doesn't look much better. If I must shade my 2500 square foot garden , I may rethink my hobby. Good luck.

I dont know about the misting aging the leaves. There are California growers that mist and get big results.

I had lots of wilted and even sun burned leaves with temps in the 80' and high heat index here in PA. Interestingly I noticed a difference in plants' tolerance to the heat, even with identical conditions surrounding each one
