my hybrid deep water culture slash bubbleponic sunflowers doing quite well this year and I think pumpkin is where is going to evolve to next year. check out the sunflower page and see you were the sport is going. I guess I'm interested in seeing how professional grows pumpkins. I'll be up in your area in early july.

There were some giants growing in Epcot this winter...pretty sure they were hydroponic anyway..

If anyone had the now how from a hydroponic way of growing them they( disney/Epcot) would certian be able to create the right inviroment to do so. A few years ago I was there and they had some pretty amazing things they had been doing with smaller pumpkins. So it wouldnt surprise me if they had headed in the direction of growing giants in a hydroponic inviroment.

well hydroponic is fine for more centrally located roots but you will need a massive system to provide what a kin needs, since the majority of the root system is seperated by multiple points located each leaf node.
