Building a new trellis this week, got into an old stack of lumber.A Recluce spider went down my shirt, bit me on the shoulder, then again at my belt line.Let me tell you, I never felt a thing and it was a big one, from the looks of the fang marks. He really lit me up too.Shoulder felt like somebody hit me and my throat swelled up and got really sore for a couple days. They also leave a nasty little wound that takes forever to heal. This is the second time in the last few years for me.Please....everyone be wary and very very careful of spiders.

Around here we get a lot of black widow spiders that you have to be careful of --that and the scorpions that are no fun to step on when walking around barefooted - It's amazing how much pain such a little thing can put you in.

I hate the winters up here in MA but I'm also glad that I don't have to deal with recluce or black widow spiders, scorpions and poisonous snakes.
Here's a map I found on where Recluce spiders live:

Recluses have some of the smallest fangs of all venomous spiders. Many bites go unnoticed for days. Did you see the spider?

You need a bite kit!
www.brown-recluse.com
I will swear by this, I get black widow munches every year and I've had one brown recluse...
Recluses are in all 50 states and reported in Canada. They like to live in your house with you, take a ride in your luggage or moving boxes...
Here you do not garden without an inspection mirror on a handle so you can look at the sides you can't see on a pumpkin or vine before you reach in there.
The bite kit will de-venom your tissues and you heal a LOT faster, with a smaller scar. It will also take down the pain of antbites and yellow jacket stings <woman that knows from experience>
