...or 'root-bound' plants.
please advise as the correct term, lol---
i am decently behind schedule and am planting my babies out over the next 7 days max. the first 5 are all good. thing is, my soil hasn't been 'ready' until just this past Sunday, what with the NY extreme wetness spring we are having, and my plants are doing everything they are supposed to do in the patch...in the pots. i did not make the usual 'root relief-holes' in my peat pots this year, and it seems the plants are stunting more than ever. i am no stranger to this, occasionally, but wanted to know what others have had happen to THEIR plants if they have been in the peat pots for too long;
(once planted-out),
did the plants always come-around and finally spout a true leaf/main vine, have there been instances where the plant never got going and was a total bust, blame falling entirely on too-late-to-get-planted? it is disheartening to see a plant with two giant seed leaves and NO first true leaf. good thing it's not my 901 Hunt! anyway, if you have any advice or a story, would like to hear it---thank you-----pumpkinpal2

I can't see how pot bound would cause lack of a true leaf. I think I could plant a giant in a 2 inch pot and expect at least 3 good leaves before it ran out of juice.

okay, thanks---

good excuse for to put some pictures of them in my diary,
as i have not had one going in about 3 years.

the 'stuff' in-between the seed leaves is all 'bonsai',
wherein there are miniatures of all the things that are supposed to be there like first true leave(s), maybe a tiny vine no more than an inch, etc., etc., and i will use how my season goes otherwise as an example of what they look like now as-opposed-to a month from now.
PS---i have always thought your nickname on here is one of the best ones ever, and thank you for the reply. eg

Ha cool I think you will end up with a ribbon vine mutation that's exactly what my 772 did a few years back.
