What do you do when your patch probably will not be tilled in time and their is a thick 2-3ft tall winter rye crop? lol

Cut it with a hand scythe...then compost it..or let it dry.. If you let it dry it will add organic matter.

I mowed my rye today Nic. Still to wet to till, but I could see a few heads starting to form. I had to mow over it several time to get it chopped up good. It's the only choice at this point.

Rye Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, Rye Whiskey I cry, if I don't get Rye Whiskey I think I may die. If the ocean were whiskey and I were a duck...oh...never mind, should have read the first post.

Same problem here. Still too wet to till. My rye is growing good in certain spots but it is just too wet for even it to grow good....what a season so far and it is my best spot in the patch the last 3 years....I may just mow it down...
