One of our customers in the Miami Dade area of South Florida harvested a 611.9 lb. pumpkin several days ago. It was just certified by the dept. of Ag. It was a 1277.5 Holland selfed and was only 49 days old. It went from 29 lbs. a day to nothing in just a couple days as the main vine was infested with SVBs.

Fl record is 840 I think, but that far south that big is awsome.I was born in Dade Co. and Heat, humidity, AND salty air miles inland make growing large difficult. Way immpressed. Mary

Yes, the record is 840 in 2008 for Florida. Officials there list the 611.9 as #2 all time for the State. The grower of the 611.9, Harold Wolford, is pumped to get the record someday.

For only 49 days old, and Grown in Florida that is impressive.

Florida is not on the top ten list and I would be more than happy to add them if someone has a list of the top 10 (or less is fine for now) officially weighed pumpkins.
Thanks! Kelly
