Too wet here. I figure another 10 days or so and I can till, unless the forecast is true and we get 1/2 inch of rain and 2-3 inches of snow by tomorrow...

Snow showers as has been the case all spring, 36 this morning which is warm for what it has been. Winds that prevent me from getting plastic on the new greenhouse.

Not heavy rains, but a lot of small ones and lots fo clouds and cool weather. I did tillage after adding amendments last fall, and that will be it for this year. Just hit it with glyphosate and plant.

The morning's paper said that we had over 403 inches of snow pack with more expected. No melting. Sustained flooding is expected when it does. Glad that I don't live near a stream. It's snowing out there now. Anyone got seeds for a snow pumpkin?

I started plants a week later because of the wet season in Oregon, (25TH) I plan on transfering into 1Gal cotainers hoping to minimize rootbound plants? Thinking positive, Im thankful for all the weeds for keeping topsoil from washing away with flooded creek:) Warm & Dry in greenhouse. DBH

I'm going to put everything in big tea bags, set them around the base and at every leaf nod. With all this rain, I'll have steady feed soil hydroponics. Hopefully I won't have to measure my pumpkins off the side of a row boat if this continues. But then again, wouldn't that be pure water culture?! Anyone ever apply microbes wearing a scuba suit?

Zoellner coached me. And the biggest lesson I took away is not to take myself too seriously or I take all the fun out of it. With a screen name like Bodene, short for Jeffro Bodene of The Beverly Hillbillies,I realize Jeff's had the right attitude right from the start. And the start of this season sure is testing me on it!

#rd wettest April ever here in Portland, combine that with a new home cut into virgin rain forest and well.... We wont be growing competitivly this season. Its so mushy with our Aluvian soil that I cant even get a sub compact 4x4 wheel tractor in back to the garden area. I have to hand pack the new fencing material! Picks in the diary soon.
