The 895* would be a good cross.... (hehehe) Just self it, or a Jumbo Pink Bananna Squash
I like the 1810 x 1725 Harp and vice versa. Or go crazy - 1810 x 1354 Checkon (isn't that still the Mom of the biggest pumpkin in inches or did Doc's pumpkin have more?)

Wiz, bottom line, with so few 1810's out there, cross it with everything. If it bombs, no biggy, BUT if it triumphs, you'll be one of the select few with the crosses

I find it encouraging that those with the seed are looking to cross it with 1725 and other fruit in the top percentage of the weight class. This will bode well for future genetics and the potential for 2K. Perhaps for the first time in a long time growers are aggressively embracing the philosophy that Biggest x Biggest = Biggest-er. Employing these crossing strategies follows a basic principle of logic I daresay we should all embrace. Also a principle that breeders in all fields of genetics have long known to be true- to improve upon your best, use your best as breeding stock. DUH.
Obligatory soapbox rant aside, I'd like to see 1810 x 1689 Jutras and reverse. A truly remarkable pumpkin for its time, I believe the 1689 did not get a fair shake. Secondly, if 1810 pollen begins to permeate the seed culture, it is in our best interest to diversify a bit by including multiple upper-echelon females and pollinators. 1725 H, 1725 S, 1675, 1674, etc.

I would like to see a 1725 cross, both of them.....1288, 1450, bring an old genetic cross into it with a 723 Bobier....Would be very cool to self it....especially if it would be as successful as the 1725 Harp...

The 1288 in the link above will get planted.....the plant came up strong...but would not eject itZ shell even though it was filed.....It was very hard to remove but I felt it would of rotted all the way so I extracted it and removed most of the damaged tissue...... it greened up and two dayZ later after a bit of fish and seaweed, the first true leaf emerged..... This 1288 will go into CoJoe's genetic patch and get hit with the 1810......

My fine Ice friend.....that iZ a to be determined work in progress.......I will wait and see to take my best....I hope my best is the 1450...but I have one mean 1725 Harp too....and I will also look at Joe's and otherZ crosses to see if they have an exceptional plant to be considered...we dont have much of a window but its not a lock down decison yet....that way I get the best of the best....and make the most of Master Stevens generousity...
