Sorry there is no direct link so you will have to paste in address bar. Yes,I have had a vandal(s) last year at the end of season who tried to destroy my good luck. First time I ever had to call the R.C.M.P.and it took a long time(weeks) to slow my pulse. Anyways, although illegal in this country, I have offered money quietly for info on this sicko. Regardless, I saw this on ebay and seemed like a good idea...if it works! or maybe someone has a better idea for a setup.I like the motion detection part of it,would make things simpler maybe. Thanks pete

I had vandals last year in my patch as well. I got a pretty basic 4 camera system by Q-See from Tiger Direct for $299. It works good and will record over 2 weeks of footage on the hard drive. The cameras have 20 led's in them and the night vision is pretty limited (about 20 feet without extra lighting) so I have a motion light pointed to the patch as well. Whatever you get make sure you get lots of good signs, they will deter them more than anything.

Set up a motion light with 2 lite sockets in one put bulb in other plug in a boom box. When this is set off it will wake you up & scare the crap out of intruder,Cameras are a good deturrent but very difficult to figure who it is on film.I pity the fool that steps in my yard after dark!!

Last year police in my area picked up some teens who were breaking into cars in driveways (which is who they figured rampaged my patch) and they were carrying illegal firearms as well. Thats one reason I would prefer to deter rather than confront.

Thanks for the replies. We have a motion light but it has a lot of false triggers, and maybe it is the light that is not so great. I 'd hate to have too many false alarms. Yes I've thought about signs but I really don't want to...it acknowleges whoever did this to me that they made some kind of victory against me.....am I wrong? How do idiots think anyways?. I though about some fishing line tricks but that would be tough in the daytime.Electric fence would be my choice if I thought it would really help....'cept I would raise the voltage a little on the high side.

It is illegal to set bobby traps,If they hear loud noise they will leave, you wont have to confront them,You could also put a cassette tape in Boom Box with some scary stuff on it warning them Po PO on the way,Im lucky police station.1 block away from my house.Im going with German Shephard this year!I just hope she doesnt Bark at walker bys all the time.It could become a noise violation!I put up signs,I had a Adult Foster Care person(challenged)picking my kins 1 day(afternoon).I said what R u doing in my garden.he replied picking these Squash, they were softball size kins ,he had about 5 in a bag.Everyone was impressed that I took it so well.I placed No tresspassing signs, without signs you cant do anything legal wise. But signs can attract idiots also.I think German shephard is best. The Group home will get a bill next time,300$ a kin,I can prove they sell 4 that.

There are all kinds of "trail cameras" at hunting supply stores. Many work on infrared led's and can take stills or videos and store images to SD cards. I personally like the Bushnell. It's small and dependable.

www.anixter.com They sell cabling but also have a full line of security cameras. I was at a meeting with them a few weeks ago. Mostly high-end but worth a look.
