The GWG is pleased to announce our prize levels for 2011. We thank everyone who has joined & supported us at our auctions this year. We now have the funds in our bank account to be able to pay out the top 10 places for 2011. Our rules state that our prizes would be a minimum of 5 place. With the overwhelming level of support we have received, the board has decided to pay the top 10 this year.

**Remember that you must be a member & weigh at a GPC site to be eligible to win.**

GWG Rules 2011
1) Two entries per family Maximum, both must be members to be eligible for prizes. Only 1 prize per member per year. Must be cared for by member.
2) Membership fee paid by June 1st of each year.
3) Top 5 places must donate 25 seeds from winning fruit, 10 seeds to raffle, 15 to club,
Would ask all growers to donate seeds for club auctions.
5) Must enter yourself at weigh-off or have a medical or family type emergency to send with non-grower
6) Must weigh at GPC site worldwide. The melon must be solid & pass inspection, no holes, or soft spots.
7) Club must print & deliver annual Newsletter With financial report & prize winners.
8) Will have Top 5 places seed raffle. 5 winners will get 2 seeds from each melon 1st through 5th place each year.
Committee members excluded from this raffle. All paid members are eligible for these prizes. One prize per member.
9) Prize Structure will never be less than 5 places. Club may choose to pay more places in future years. Prize amounts are subject to change based on membership & auction results and possible Sponsors.
10) Prize structure will be posted by June 1st of each year.
11) In the event of a tie, the tying levels will be combined & split between the winners.

If your site is not yet a GPC site, consider joining. Basic membership is only 100.00.
No weighoff near you. Consider starting a GPC weighoff, basic membership is only 100.00.

Chris, just a thought here...now that you have made the jump to paying top 10, why not change rule 8 to include top 10 also!!!(at least for this year?) Sorta thinkin that 6-10 would be happy to contribute a few seeds!!!If next year if only 5 places,(doubtful) then only 5? Peace, Wayne

We might do that wayne,Lots of great Ideas,We have come along way in 40 days,I think we should leave things as they are till after 1st weigh-off.Then we can discuss new ideas & such,The only change we are thinking right now is adding to purse as membership rises by June 1st.Or If we think of anything like the tie breaker rule.
