The Vegas post bumped off the page, so I thought I would bring it back as there seemed to be quite a bit of interest.

What if the seminar was every other year in Vegas....and...on the same weekend of the Nascar race!! Getting out of the snow and cold for a weekend at this time of year would be very much welcomed from me!!

This is a track I have wanted to visit and would be a great way to finish off a great weekend. They normally run the 3rd race of the year there and would be and extra bonus to finish up a giant veg seminar and then head over to the track for a little rubbin 'n' racin!!

I know it takes a lot to organize these events and the GPC would have to be on board....wondering what the next step would be?? Thoughts??

I didn't even tell my wife about the Vegas idea until yesterday I kind threw it in the air like, "some people wanna have the convention in Vegas" and she said " that's a great idea!

im quite sure the gpc has entertained thoughts of alternating future convention sites several times over the years.
there are many benefits to alternating sites.the obvious being easier access for growers in different parts of the country, weather and site attractions as well.
something to be said about this possibility for sure.

It would be great to meet a bunch of growers we normally would not meet in Niagara who cannot make it from the west. Vegas getaways are probably cheap for everyone, I know they are from Toronto.

There in lies the rub Bill, Sally's crew does such an amazing job every year and it takes an incredible amount of energy and dedication to put the event on. We can talk about it all we want, but it would take an organization like the Pumpkinfest crew to step up to organize it and make it happen. My hats off to Sally and the gang...fantastic job!!!

Definately would go. especially on race weekend!! I have also wanted to go to a race there. that would chew up a day of seminar time though. Niagara was a good time for my first experience. Excellent job by all that organised and ran it. They (Niagara) definately stick it to you being in a tourist town though.. Go out of town a few blocks and the prices drop, thats for sure. Im sure Vegas is the same way. Some dummy opened the bottle of water in my room without looking at the tag first.... ooppss... $7.95!!! lesson learned..

same weekend as a nascar race?... half the folks would be there and not the convention. I enjoy nascar, but if it is a 'kin' convention, then let it be a 'kin' convention, there are enough distractions in Vegas as it is. just my thoughts.

The Nascar race is on Sunday, and started at 4:30 this year, the seminar in Niagara ended at noon on the Sunday...that's why I mentioned it...do the seminar Fri, Sat and Sunday... then head to the race when the seminar ends......anyway it's just a thought.
