Congratulations to the Elk Grove Organizing Committee for putting on an excellent Growers Forum this past Saturday. The featured speaker was Brandt Bordsen who presented an excellent talk on how he grew his California State Record Pumpkin of 1645.5 lbs. His background in science really helped the many new growers in attendance pick up valuable information on proper techniques and methods in growing giant pumpkins. I'm not sure what the total number was, but a building designed for 150 people was very full. Free seeds, a catered lunch, and lots of door prizes were available for all.
