I have found another material that breathes...instead of using green house plastic. Available from GroOrganic.com...or otherwize known as Peaceful Valley Garden Supply. I have found it in different R values...as well.....offers frost protection to varying degrees...and depending on how you buy it, may change your hoop house size. I had 6 x 6 foot hoopers,,,but now I find I can buy this material in a larger format that will allow me to make my hoopers 8 X 8 foot....and now offers me two more feet....and I think needed for my state.....(no not the state of confusion) check out....you can email with more questions if you wish... This wasnt available two years ago, so materials get updated. I have used this for the past 3 years ( smaller size)....and its time to replace it as it gets brittle after 3 years of being in the sun, wind, cold, and yes HAIL......works great as hail protection for the month of MAY.....yes I got hail in MAY last year....also the windy and frost month as well......
Last year someone else I knew used plastic......and his temps inside his hooper we hitting over 98+ degrees....I think NOT GOOD when they are that young...Also the humidity inside his plastic bag hooper was 100%....too much..........I only use green house plastic on the ends of my greenhouse........GOOD LUCK
