I wonder, does anyone use a preemergence herbicide like Ready Germiplus (a.s. pendimetalin), Potclean (a.s. oxadiazon) or similar? They should be fine on established vegetable plants, but I could not find anything in particular about pumpkins.

Strategy.. There are many of them out there...they are pretty nasty to other vegetables/Plants and effect all root growth. Should only be used in commercial applications. Round up as a post emergence is the best method, along with a Hoe

Thank you all for the answers, well I do have a good realtionship with my hoe ... but last year weeds were one of my major causes of trouble. My housband tolerates my madness for a seaside camping experience in exchange. Watering and other vital care could be held by others, while there were huge weeds waitting for me when back home. Strategy looks very promising, but I could not find anythingn like it here in Europe.
