Since white seems seem somewhat more delicate than tan seeds, is there a need to decrease the dose of GA3 used to germinate them?

'97 squash seeds. I have two so maybe I can tweak the dose a bit and see which one works best?

Julian,
I used 500ppm GA3 on 4 small white squash seeds from 1997 and 1999. I soaked them for 14 hours in the GA3 solution and then put them in between wet paper towels in an egg incubator set at 88 degrees. Three of the four seeds germinated in 2 days from the time I put them in the incubator. One of them had a really long root already so it must have popped in a day or a day and a half. The fourth seed germinated in 4 days. I haven’t noticed anything strange about the seedlings so far but they are still pretty small.

Tom I had great success, but by only using GA3 sparingly. I also thing the water used to dilute the product can have a reflection on it's strength (PH of the water) I would suggest trying it out first on some other seeds. I never found any difference in white or tan seeds, I believe the seed absorbs the product through the files area, and this would be the same on any seed. In my opinion with GA3 less is better

Psssssst- GA3 may assist the winning bidder of AVGVG auction Part 2. A historic lot may be added which represents the apex of the genetics of today.
