It may be a little early for this but then again for the sake of good fun whats everyones predictions for the newer year. Any predictions. Most sought after seed, world champ, heaviest pumpkin? My predictions are the following. 1. The most sought after seed after 2011 will be the 1596 Wallace seed. The world record will stay for only this year. World Champ I can't even imagine or speculate. My goal for this year will be to break the 1000 mark.

most sought after seeds, after 2011 will be the 1622 young, 1325 hopkins, 1468 stevens and 1725 sweet.
I can see a world record next year and I think it will be off chris's 1810.5. weight ohh,,1856 I'll say...
My goal over 1500 this year.

I think the 1810 will be too sparsely planted to grow a new WR. The 1161 was scarce enough before the 2010 weighoffs, so even though it's currently the most sought-after seed, it should have a tough time getting widespread massive specimens to the scales. The 1421 and 1663 should prove very productive, given high expected planting rates. I also believe it's worth keeping an eye on the greenies (no, not the Jets), given the extensive recent discussions about improving their color and weights in general. Additionally, Chris Kent's new melon WR seems to have instilled some renewed interest in competition-sized watermelons, so look out for the scales tipping 300 lbs this year.

many names come to mind when thinking about possible world record holders for 2011.with so many good growers now your odds are better to win your states lottery then they are to be world champion.someones got to do it though, so why not you? most sought after seed? the 1810 stevens ----- in limited planting it could still open some eyes. ( how bout the 1810 x 1161 and 1161 x 1810 ) i like the possibilities of many 2010 crosses and would not want to offend anyone by posting names. lets just say anything with a good genetic value that came from a 1,500 and up last season? has a great shot for 2011.

Any of the top seeds have the potential to grow a WR if the conditions are right. Kevin Marsh is so close. I'll be surprised if he isn't the top grower next year. The WR can & will be broken in 2011, with the top weight being 1818. Not much bigger, but just enough. We hope it's us that does it though. LOL. Good luck all.
