i have heard different ideas on the best length for the main vine some terminate soon after there kin others let it grow as long as it can and some have a optimum length where they terminate. i have 2 vines one terminated itself at 13 feet soon after i set my pumpkin the other is at 20 feet and still going with a kin set at 15 feet. the 13 feet vine kin is growing a bit faster but will it suffer later due to being on a smaller vine ?
