tomato man, i am confused by your reply, thirty years from now? Aftwer reading dozens of Spring and Fall soil tests each year, I can tell you that the 0-0-50 can be just about depleted in one season of growing Altlantic Giant pumpkins, and that 0-0-50 in granular form will break down in the soil when added in the fall, in time for spring soil tests...

Thanks Tom, thats exactly what I needn't to know. I didn't what to add the granular if it wasn't going to break down in time.

Don't worry Bell, it will break down no problem. I use the granular kind and like Tom said, patch is nearly depleted at the end of each season.

Is there a form of potash that can be put down in the spring prior to planting?

Ditto, Tom is correct I took his advice last year and did the same this year. It will be ready in the spring!
