This is to all our American friends.

Each year we receive many BP from our US friends & we love to share our seeds with as many people as we can. Thanks.

One thing that bugs us as Canadian growers is that we receive about 10 BP per year that have American stamps on the return BP. This is just like throwing your money out the window of your car. US Stamps are useless up here, so we usually foot the bill to return them to you. No big deal, but it happens every year even after we post a message reminding everyone about the problem. I know some growers who would toss the BP out if they receive them like that. We don't like to do that, so please NO USA Stamps on your return BP from Canada. Just throw in a couple $$.

We look forward to receiving the BP & sharing our seeds with you Thank you.

Ya, I get a lot like that too. I think its kind of funny actually! I always cover the postage and send the seeds. Usually I change the addresses on the stamped bubble and send it as one of my seed requests, so nothing goes to waste.

I should add thast I do get the odd American seed request with Canadian stamps on the return bubble....now that's impresive!

And not to blame it all on oue cousins to the south, I have received bubble from europe with there native stamps on them as well.

I haven't done the bubble thing in about 3 years but when I did my post office always had Canadian stamps that I could send with it. I'm sure they still must have those.

Very good post Phil. I am sure I've been guilty in the past and hope I'm not this year. I believe I've sent two bubble requests out-of-country with currency in them so far. Have you received one from the SOGPG yet John? If not, let me know at: [email protected].

Everything is ready to go, and I sent an email for address... some ink and I can drop this bubble, and yes I did stick some folding green in instead of stamps... don't have any Loonies or Toonies though.

It's not just our friends to the south. I had a guy in Canada stick a single 50 sent stamp on a big ass bubble. No note, nothing. I sent him a couple seeds and paid the difference which was nothing really. Moreso the principal that bothered me.
All my bubbles from the states came with 2 American dollars which was perfact because they cost me $ 2.07 Canadian in stamps.

Jane and Phil, Thanks for the useful information. Please let me know how much cash to include in my bubble when you reply to the e-mail I sent last night if it is more than $2.00.

I can never keep up with the exchange rate, so I just include a 5 dollar bill with my request. Actually, good Canadian seeds are worth a lot more than 5 bucks.

Hi All. don't worry about the postage, this was a reminder more than anything. Postage to the US is @ $2.25 for a BP, so $2-3 is fine. Thanks.

Cheers,
Jane & Phil
