some times seeds that came out of a soupy pumpkin will when dried out look dull and not as hard shelled as those that came out of a solid fruit. it does not necessarly mean the seed will not germinate. when in doubt and after the seeds are good and dry, ( under a fan for 10 to 14 days or so )try dropping the seed from a height of about 8" onto a hard surface like a wooden table. if the seed bounces sharply off the surface chances are its good. if it lands with a dull thud type of noise? and has little to no bounce off the surface ? it ng.

Master P,
Are you referring to some seeds being white-skinned and some being brown-skinned?
