The Kentucky Giant Pumpkin Growers will be having a watermelon and pumpkin growing seminar Feb 12, 2011. We are planning to have a few silent auctions to help cover travel expences for a couple of our speakers. Please check out our silent auction on the Seed Auctions and Raffle Board. From what I have heard from Tim, the featured speakers are? Chris (Superman) Kent (new WORLD record watermelon "291" grower), John & James VanSandBaggus(new KY. AG record holder w/ Dill Award)!!! Maybe as a bonus (will be there for sure) Mr. ExtremePknStore himself...Tom P!!! (Hopefully he brings a presentation)!! And have heard that the GODFather of the KPM...Mr. Frank Mudd, and his cousin...Bill Brinkley will also be present!!! We are in negotiations w/ the Infamous Victor James...also known as... pknheadVic...to tell us how to grow a Lope!!! (55#'s this year)!! Hope this helps to bring any and awl to Richmond, KY in Feb!!! PPS...he is working on a local, convenient "w/discounts" Hotel for us to meet up at.(Hopefully w/ a tavern inhouse where the real knowledge can be shared!! Entry is $5 per Family (I think?)! The KGPG Watermelon and Pumpkin growing seminar will be held February 12, 2011 at the Madison County Extension Service Richmond, KY. Admission is $5.00 to attend. Seminar will Begin at 1:00 pm Eastern time. We are still working on some details but we have Chris Kent, World Record Melon Grower, Tom Piritera, John VanHook, Frank Mudd and Dwight Slone as our featured speakers. Seed sales and giveaways are on the agenda as well.

We are working on a discount at a local hotel for growers who are spending the night. A lot more will be announced later. A DVD of the seminar is planned.
