My Dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He is my best friend, Dad, and mentor and I am very HONORED and Proud that he is my Father and that I am his son. We ask for every ones thoughts and prayers.
Dad, may God bless you and keep you in his loving arms until we all meet again. I LOVE YOU more than words or actions could ever begin to show or tell!!!!! I will miss you but i will keep and cherish every moment we have left and every memory that I have of You!! Your loving Son, William Edward Wright.

I don't usually respond to post like this as they are very personal but your plea struck a strong chord with me.
I had the almost identical experience a few years back. My dad and I got a long OK but weren't necessarily the closest friends. When he died I was holding him in my arms with my Mom and sister setting beside us. As trite as it is to say, we all must go at some time. It may sound wrong but that memory of my father's death is one of the more positive or powerful memories of my life. We all new what was to happen. We all had the time to exchange our good byes and our "I love you"s. If it has to be it is good (?) that it can be in a setting of strong family love. It sounds like you have that.
My thoughts are with you.
