This past spring I conducted a scientific study where I compared these three products from RTI and the results have been compiled and posted in a pdf file that is displayed as a slide show. I will admit the slides do contain a fair amount of words and not many ‘fun’ pictures but this is intended to be scientific.
Please take your time when reading through it and I plan on being in bigpumpkins.com chat tomorrow (11/11/10) from 7-8pm EST to answer any questions so I can try and reduce the list of e-mails. As a way to try and select for questions about this study look for me in the “Featured Growers Chat” room.
To see the slide show go to www.Team-Pumpkin.org (*Note* our auction will be held on Friday 11/19/10) and on the left you will see the ‘downloads’ tab. Click this and follow it to the link for the trial.
I want to thank Neil for his recent suggestions and I hope to be able to run some follow-up studies this off-season. My space (and time) is not unlimited but I enjoy this work.
All comments are welcome.

Just a few quick details:
I did make sure to include pictures of the actual plants with a reference in between both sample pants so you can see the actual test subjects. There were 3 different species (all cucurbits) selected. The Atlantic Giants because that is what we are goring, field pumpkins as a ‘true’ pumpkin plant, and Table Ace (Acorn) squash because of its container/greenhouse friendly behavior.
I also wanted to see what interactions may occur if any between the products and the all important ‘no treatment’ control gave me my 8 total treatments.
Other details should be explained in the presentation, but comments and suggestions are encouraged.

Field pumpkins and acorn squash are both cucurbita pepo so there were only two species tested.

Not all field pumpkins are C. pepo... some are C. moschata.

Though I think Matt might have meant cultivars instead of species.

Matt,
Can you tell me more about the myco product? Was there anything else in there besides endo? Was there trichoderma in there?
