Grower friends-

To my dismay, the 1810 has a very low viable seed count. So low, in fact, that I will not even be able to honor club auction requests. Frustratingly, 1468 also had a relatively low count. I'm saddened by this, as I know clubs and growers alike were looking forward to the 1810 seed for their auctions and 2011 lineup.

On a positive note, my 1561 seed count was favorable, as were many of Hopkin's 2011 fruit. Im humbled by your seed requests; unfortunately many may go unfulfilled due to less than adequate seed counts.

That's too bad Chris, these things are beyond anyone's control.

Chris - was wondering do you think those Custom Bio products to promote growth might be affecting the seed growth - perhaps having the Pumpkin focus more of its energy to producing thicker walls at the cost of seed production ?

Seems to be somewhat of a trend this year Chris. I had my first pumpkin ever with no seeds this year. It's not your fault we all put our requests in so early before the pumpkin was cut open.

Sorry about the low count, but future crosses of the 1810 will be in high demand, especially if your WR holds for another year. Congrats on such a fine season!

Chris, I'd like to see you grow one of the 1810.5's, just to see what it would do.
