Hi Bob, I have a question for you. Has that problem happened year after year? Or was this the first time?
This fella Tremor really knows what he`s doing: "Tremor [email protected]"
"I've dealt with both Fusarium & Alternaria fruit rots. After starting to use sand under the pumpkin the rots most disappeared. Spraying the fruit with the regular fungicide sprays made it completely go away". I know you are worried about a repeat of this problem next year. I think if if was the first time this has ever happened I would try to follow Tremor`s advise about putting something under the pumpkin and regular fungicide applications. Like we discussed, these are things you should be doing anyway.
If this problem has occurred year after year, I might consider nuking the patch. Tremor had suggested something called "Basamid". I cant find it on ebay and I``m not sure if its still called that. It was an old post. Hopefully, Tremor will see this post and possibly suggest an alternative to "Basamid"
