We will be taking a two-week vacation to Phoenix at the end of November - any suggestions of things we should do and/or see? Besides the Pink Floyd concert and the Nascar Race.

lol! or seriously ... is it really something you should see? 'cause I'll go
Also, reasonable but higher end hotels in Phoenix close (cab fare distance) to the US Airways Center, would be great suggestions too please
Pumpkin Growers played a huge factor in planning my trip to Boston and I won't forget it - made my trip great - so I'm counting on you now Westerners to help me with my travel plans!

My wife and I took a night time guided tour into the mountains in a modified hummer. There are many companies that do that around there and it was pretty darn cool. They gave us night vision goggles to see what lurks at night as we off roaded through.

Rawhide for sure especially if you are bringing kids. At 8 yrs old, I had my first "Rocky Mountain Oyster" while my parents had fun at a bar. Go up to Cave Creek just north of Scottsdale\Phoenix. It's a really nice little mountain town in the desert with some country\biker type bars. You could also hike Camel Back Mountain or go to an ASU football game in Tempe.

If you like an outdoors western\biker type bar with great music try this.

We went out a few years ago. The Zoo is great. The Botanical Gardens are worth it. take a ride out to the ghost town in Apache Junction, a bit touristy but was fun. The winding road that continues runs through the mountains with no guardrail. Also, Sedona is the other way and is awesome. On the way out there is an interesting park with a water hole inhabited by Indians at one time. Grand Canyon is about 4 hours out of Phoenix.
