I have a question... This weekend while removing seeds from three of( IMHO) my best crosses for next year I noticed a huge difference in the seeds size. At first I thought they were swollen because of the warmer Oct. weather and were beginning to sprout.
But after cutting several open... the insides were perfect.. the embro and cots.. its just the seeds size.
What might have created seeds almost twice as long and thick as normal. The only commonality was the pollinator .. the Harp 1725. What do you think?

It was an interesting find to say the least.
Thanks

The only sure way for me to help you is for me to look at them in person. Send me a few, and my evaluation process usually takes from April till October, and then I will let you know.

I took open a pumpkin today and noticed that some seeds have sproated and had stems. It also had a lot of seeds. Their drying now and will be ready in a few weeks. then I'll test some of them. The seeds where also huge and I wish I knew why.

Probably just genetics. I have received seeds from other growers and noticed some major size differences. The biggest seed that I have seen was a Emmonds seed (416 I think)and some of the smallest were the 648 Young seeds.
Small seeds do not mean small pumpkins from what I experienced.
Just how big are they ?
Take a pic of one beside a quarter for size reference and post it.
