1264 Kline 09 looks like a great seed to me.
1161 Rodonis X 1385 Jutras
It went 14% heavy which is even better.

Hey Down Under Some time we'll be visiting family again in Brisbane and I was wondering if any body there grew'em big and orange. I was thinking some of the pest and molds etc you have in the more tropical climes might give you a real challenge. Parts of the NZ climate are very similar to what we have here on the coast of British Columbia so I can see them having a good run at it. I guess you could protect the patch with cane toads and carpet snakes. Anyways, Good on ya mates! Cheers Michael

hi darky, im trying for the NZ record as well, cant wait to start planting outside. a few truck loads of other stuff?..... i have only 2 trailers of horse poo, but will use lots of seaweed foliar spray and NPK. i dont rotary hoe, i pitch fork the patch as the plant grows... trying to keep the worms and bugs alive. dont know if this is good or not for pumpkin size... but with the ground alive and weeds growing in between the vine i only have to worry about powdery mildew. last season my patch was in shadow by 5pm because of tall pines next door, but have moved the patch and will gain around 2 hrs sun a day. this should get me past my last weight of 330kgs.... along with better seeds.
still have a big rabbit and possum problem though.
what i have learnt over the last 3 seasons is, it helps bigtime to have very good seeds, but even more important is growing the pumpkin nice and steady without any sudden boosts of fert or a few days of no maintance. thats a fast way to lose several weeks of growth.
ha ha... rambling on again.
roll on season 4.
cheers
