I have a good friend who has a decent sized pumpkn which has a significant lean to it. It has basically grown on its shoulders with the stem on the ground causing it to lean forward with its butt up in the air. Kinda like Rocky at the chow line. We have been debating on what circumfrence measurement is accurate. Should it be still parrallel to the ground at its widest spot. Or should it be from the stem area cutting back around the blossom in which you would decrease the number. Thanks for any input to help add to this debate.

The largest circumference you can find measured around the fruit parallel to the ground will give you the best estimate. The estimation formula is based on this exact criteria being followed for the circumference measurement.
