This is just a reminder to everyone that I am still looking for disease pictures and diagnosis for a "Pumpkin Problems Collection".

Response has been very low so I am just sending out a reminder while people may still have some good samples that they can take pictures of. The goal is to help everyone with this but I need everyone's input to make it happen.

Good pictures of even the common problems is encouraged (powdery mildew, downy, frost damage, hail damage) but especially some of the other problems (yellow vine, fusarium...) because there is nothing out there for the Giant Pumpkin variety. I am willing to put it all together but I need some material to work with.

Details can be found at:

Thanks,

-Matt

I was unable to find your email in your diary so I'll post here. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=142156 http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=145552 I might have seen it last year, but this year it was very wide spread. It affected only the leaves. It was diagnosed by me and another forum member.

Matt check out my diary, I have some hail damage to 1 plant and some leaf disease to another plant . I also have some pics on both plants. I have no idea what was wrong with the leaves on the plant. Maybe you can come up with a solution from the pics.
thanks Randytcat

Matt, I been meaning to send you pics, Ill try to do it some time this week, I will try to take some close up and crisp pictures for you.

Good idea though Matt, Here's something to throw at ya on a idea , talk to Ken and see if you would be able to put your findings and cures for your disease and diagnosis on the bp.com site as well, like for a main menu , that way this site will have their own refrence for plant disease and diagnosis and other plant problems for growers to refrence to with out leaving this site.

Matt, I have plenty of diseased and damaged leaves but I'm not able to difinitively identify them! I can send pics but can't tell you exactly what the condition is.

My 2007 diary has several disease pictures. I never got a lab analysis of the disease ( couldn't afford it) but it resembled pythium. I treated it like it was pythium (improved drainage, Aliette fungicide and beneficial bacteria treatments) and the problem is gone.

These are the replies I was looking for, I knew the giant pumpkin community would not let me down!

Brooks great idea, let me first see if I can get everything together and organized first;-)

To everyone that has a 'disease' but does not have a diagnosis if you could post the link to the pictures that would really help me find some good pictures quickly. I than can work through them to see if I can diagnose the problem.

My e-mail can be found in the little envelope in my diary (Matt D.) as of this writing it has been awhile since I have updated but updates will be coming. Sadly it has been more splits and rots than weigh-offs recently.

Keep the links and e-mail coming, do not be embarrassed to show your less than perfect plants in the end it will be very beneficial to everyone.
