Anyone ever use an electric blanket inside a tarp tent to keep their fruit warm, or would an electric heater on a concrete block work better?

I have been told never to do that. It always burns and makes the fruit start to rot.

Steve, I have heard of a few reliable growers that did that and it shut the fruit down fast. I do not have first hand experience with it, but based on that...I wouldn't do it. Tom

Thanks, guys. I'll cancel that idea and try to come up with a better one to keep my babies warm for the next 3 weeks.

Might want to try a few thick blankets. Keep it uncovered during the day so that it can get warmed up then cover it at night.
Good luck! Martin

Steve,..I use solar survival tarps (Not the flimsy tinsel looking), They reflect 80 % of the heat stored in the fruit back during the night...I was skeptical..but upon trying it I found that the fruits was significantly warmer than the air when I uncovered in the morning.

Yep,tried it last year. It tends to make the pumpkin sweat and the blankets wet around the area. I figured I was losing pumpkin weight by doing it so I discontinued it.
