My pumpkin is shy of 600 lbs. and I will be taking it to a weigh off. How do I move it? My thoughts are to rent a pickup truck. I just ordered a 6x6 lifting tarp and will use that under the pumpkin. From there I thought about using two 2" x 10" x 8 or 10' boards as a ramp. The purpose of the ramp is to provide a resting surface while moving it. Once in the truck it will be placed on a pallet with foam. I am also going to look at trucks with lift gates. A forklift or similiar would be ideal, but I have no access to one. I am on a very limited budget and this is the best I can come up with.

There's a lot of growers closer to you than you think, maybe someone will read... and help you out with loading! Ask around.

Ask around and see if someone has a tractor w/ flatbed so they can bring it over.

Yorunk, heres one of the best ways to lift a pumpkin.

All though I dont recommend it, but I Lift and load mostly all my pumpkins(even ones well over 1000lbs) by myself with this tripod system.

Bales of straw stacked for a couple lifts, on to the back of a pick-up truck should work..I had to do this for a 900lb+ a few years ago. 5-6 guys no problem
