Anyone know what this would be and if it is harmful? The front of my pumpkin around the stem area has a yellowish, jelly-like liquid just oozing out of the skin. Everything else looks good and it is still putting on good growth. Sould I try to wipe it clean? Treat it with something?
thanks for the help.

It's clear and drying darker brownish? That is sap. It happens. Unless it's drawing bugs, turning milky, or growing white, grey, green, or black 'fur', it's fine.

If it's opaque or close to it and looks more like snot, that isn't so good... there is something that happens to the blossom end and around 300# and the pumpkin goes down after that...

When that happens I wipe it off with bleach and apply a anti fungal powder to it.
