Subject:  BoodahMan's Guess the Weight Contest

BoodahMan (1622 Young) hit the scales today and doesn't want to be taken lightly. He asked me to announce a guess the weight contest starting now and ending Saturday Sept. 18 at noon Pacific time.

Closest guess to his actual weight as measured by my calibrated inline scale will win a 1622 Young seed. In the event of a tie, the first post on this board wins.

I've posted some pics on my diary at:

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryView.asp?season=2010&grower=28291&action=L

The only hints I can offer are I'm 6' 3", and the springs on my truck used to work fine.

Good luck....

Vince, I seen the back of your f-150 tilting a bit to one side,,which is a good thing when you have a huge pumpkin in the back,,lol,,

But a heads up on your f-150,,,,you might just have a bad shock,,,, but alot of times on the f-150's and 250's they are notorious for rusting and then breaking off at their back brackets shackles where the leaf springs attach to the back of your frame (most of them are riveted on , just replace the rivits with bolts if you need to replace the shackle),

But check that out, It might not be broke yet but I bet its rusty and about to crack like they all mostly are on the older type models, they ether crack or just plain break off and the leaf spring rest up on the underside of your bed. I had this happen to two f-150's that I have owned.

The only really tuff part about changing the bracket(which isn't really that hard to do) is cutting the rivets off to replace it. and a Dremel will do that job pretty easy.

Get it replaced if thats the problem, because you might be driving down the road one day and look behind you and see both back tires and back pumpkin laying in the road behind you ,,lol

Heck of a pumpkin by the way,, really nice Vince!

Taping 385” OTT, BoodahMan weighed in at 1,399 pounds – a whopping 18% heavy. The free 1622 Young seed goes to C.R.B.KinZ (Ron) from Sumner WA, who estimated 1398 lbs just minutes before MellowPumpkin (Josiah, B) clocked in with 1400 lbs even – sorry Josiah

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=146046

I was impressed with how many contestants were within 50 pounds of the correct number. BoodahMan was an extremely hard giant to estimate due to his deceptive shape and dense hide. My own guesstamate prior to weighing was 150 pounds off the mark - and I knew the OTT measurements and did a whole lotta thumpin...

Good luck to all at the weigh off’s – may they hold together and weigh heavy!
