Just wondering what is recommended for late season upkeep to maximize fruit growth potential. The growth has slowed up lately for sure. At one point the growth tips were terminated but are constantly pushing new growth on side vines. Should they be pinched back as they grow, or would the new leaves help to feed the plant during this late time of the season. Just wanted to see what other growers are doing during this time.... I still have 29 days till the weigh off

I been letting mine just grow out at this point Brandon. Letting the new growth fill in for the older leaves that have been dying off and still hitting with a shot of 0-0-30 once a week. Really can't say whether its making a lot of difference to the fruit though cause I promised myself when it hit 290 OTT I would quit measuring until cut-off time cause that was my goal this year...anything else I get will be a bonus!! Keep it growing!!! Erik

As pumpkins are so old this time of year and every day they are slowing down more and more I choose to eliminate any new growth. New growth becomes a sink in itself and right now I want the pumpkin to be the only sink for the goodies. If there are sugars available I want it all in the pumpkin!
