Hey, I posted some pictures and lab results in my diary today and wondered if anyone might be able to help solve a mystery burn that I thought was fungal...which it is not.
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=145521
Possible causes;
Agro-K micronutrients, Triforine, Cal-Mag plus, Permethrin, Pyrethrin.
I'd really like to narrow down the cause of this burn and NOT do it again. Please have a look at the link above and if you have experienced the same type of burn, please let me know.

Glenn,
Did you hand broadcast any granular fertilizer? It definitely looks to me to be a chemical burn. With all the small individual spots it could be from a fine granular application. I had some similar burn and color this year but I now attribute it to trying to spray more than 1 chemical in my foliar applications (trying to same time but got hurt in the end).

Glenn,
I have the same type burns on my plants. I sure it was caused by using too much chlorothalonil/propiconazole in my fungicide mix. Leaves were fine until I started spraying for pm, etc.
If that's not your problem, it might be the calcium mix. I started spraying calcium the same time as the fungicide mix.
I hope more experienced growers help out here.

Glenn,
you water with city water?Heavy rains lately?
Looks kind similar than mine two years ago:

I did use chemical water soluable ferts on 2008 but gave it with watering cans straight to soil, not any to leaves. And symptoms was visible after water department did heavy chlorine. Im 100% sure mine was caused by extra dose of chlorine on city water. Couple of my plants went really bad then.

p.s nice looking kins you have:)

I have a section on one of my plants with similar burn. I was using a calcium that was chelalated with etda which is what i suspected at the time...but i doubt the products you listed have that. It might be possible it is a function of too much calcium .... but i sort of doubt that too.
just curious did you use a systemic fungicide? I used Immunox - plus and I wondered about that as well

Thanks for the replies;
Tom - no broadcasting any granulars but I have seen that before on a buddies plant.
Steve - I think you might have it with the fungicide mixes and I was wondering about the calcium. I have done mixes before....I won't do that again! Maybe my Cal-Mag plus?
Miika - yes I do use city water but our water is not treated with chlorine. Looks just like the link you sent from your diary....but only is on some of the plant and not the rest....thanks...both kins are nice orange!!
Strange part is that the whole plant is not effected which is what I would have expected if if was from a foliar spray burn cause I spray the whole plant (both plants at the same time) and some of the oldest leaves are still the best looking ones...wierd!!

Vancouver - yes I've used a systemic fungicide (triforine and Infuse) plus my soil and tissue culture shows an abundance of calcuim and I've used Cal-Mag plus foliar.
Soil test 03/31/10 shows calcium at 4570 ppm Tissue test 8/31/10 shows calcium at 4.89% with the "normal" range being 1.2-2.5%.

Glenn, do you use the co2?
I have had it burn the leaves before, but only because I applied the Co2 on a late humid morning once and the sun came out earlier then I expected it to while the leaves was still kinda wet,, and found it did burn some of the newer leaves on my plant.
Although the leaves that was burnt(not as bad as yours is ) and was on secondaries that was already terminated, they was the youngest and best looking leaves on the plant. The older leaves wasnt effected, maybe its the co2 if your using it, and you applied it like I did?
