Any one else out there have leaves that look. Like they need to be on life support. The leaves are dieing slowly and I'D Like to know how to help them along. Any suggestions. I think it's just that their old and can no longer stand the stress of grnwing. Another thing is that the pumpkin seems to have stopped growing. Could the pumpkin be growing on the inside if its not showing on the outside?

sorry ken we would all like to think once they stop on the outside that they are still growing on the inside but truth be told it does not happen . its a pipe dream.when they stop growing they stop growing. your soil and plant condition dictate how good or bad your leaves look this time of year. (for that matter from mid season on as well )some due to several things look worse than others. nitrogen (the excees of it) plays a huge roll during the entire season. when excess nitrogen levels exist leaves bloat, main vines get as big as baseball bats.diseases because of this will become more active plus you loose full potential of the plant and pumpkin. every year is a learning experience.

This year certainly has been a big season. I will be looking for better more organic ways to build up the soil. I extended the patch and was unable to get all the needed ammendments in the main area.
