My kids took a pumpkin of theirs to two local weigh-offs and the difference in weight was only two pounds with a 7 day gap inbetween. I think if you can keep it cool, dry and out of the wind it shouldn't cause you much weight loss.

dont you think two pounds could be the differencte in scales? I was weighed a lot in high school as a wrestler and even certified scales between scales could be different by at least a pound, even at the 100-250 pound range.
