I just read the article this morning about the passing of Tony El-Kassis. He may be better known for growing long gourds but he also grew pumpkins.

Some of Tonys LG genetics were some of Al Eatons origional seed stock and are in the pedigree of most of todays top LG's. Tony's 82 El-Kassis was the pollinator that grew the 126.5 Jutras, the world record in 2006. The 126.5 Jutras grew Leonardo Urena's 2007 record.

Very sad story indeed...my condolences to the El-Kassis family. They have been through a lot of hardship, after Tony lost his four oldest children in a tragic car accident in 1984, his wife was injured but survived the crash.
The nutcase who took his life was recently charged with 1st degree murder....I hope she rots in jail the rest of her life....
