My stem has a few small stress cracks. I noticed today a little greenish ooze coming from it. Is there anything I should do to stop this?

I have had the same issue on both of my pumpkins....I scraped off the ooze with a small spoon and applied Captan every other day...after about 4 applications it stopped and healed over

Keep it dry.
It usually means it's still growing.

Thanks guys. Yeah Andy still growing but slowing down. Let me ask you , when should I remove my sun shadecloth? It is showing signs of starting to turn orange. I plan on harvesting it the week before your weigh off. Collin wants to put it into the fall weekend parade up here. Thanks for your continued help throughout the season look forward to seeing you
