Lately I've been thinking of what this years weigh offs will bring. I have what is known as The Orange Fever. Walking out to the patch to check weekly measurments and seeing the fruits skin turn to a ruddy cracked texture. The leaves are working overtime and are showing their age. I look at the work that has gone into the pumpkin from filing the seeds to seeing a big fruit. All the winter deposits of coffee grounds. The compost turning and my friends in the worm farm. Constant emails, calls and texts to the wisemen. Plenty of patch prep and applications of kelp. Set up and take down of the cloches. Fat Friday and a trip to Freriches All for the pumpkins trip through the Orange Gateway. Maybe Pap will give my route 95 Posting to the new rookie. Lol! I cant wait for the sand bagging to be confirmed or dismissed! Lol! Good luck to all. After pumpkin season Kennytheheat will be in a tree stand hoping for another monster. I can feel the excitment building and cant wait. Anyone else feel this way?

I don't think it's just you! (this is our first year) last night my granddaughter dreamt it was the size of a tennis ball, and I dreamt it rotted overnight......we're only at 259, don't expect a prize, but BOY!!! we're getting obsessed.....I'm just hoping it doesn't pop off of the vine....no matter how often we moved it, it went back, so we're resorting to "shimming" the vine ever higher....GOOD LUCK!

All I'm feeling is anxiety, hoping and waiting that things will work out as planned. Tonight when I came home from work, my best tomato plant blew over onto my 2nd best and I can't tell which is which. Excited, no, and don't get me started on pumpkins.

I miss the excitement, the weeding, the groping my pumpkin (holding a tape of course), feeding the skeeters...
Hope everyone that has one still going, that you get it landed for a PB.

Yea kenny...every morning as I head home from work I'm in prayer mode praying for no splits or cracks and I've lucked out so far. I tell myself I'm not gonna tape em every morning...but I do anyway. Need em to hang on with the gains for another 30 days hopefully, even if their small ill take em. I look at all that green and think of how that all came from 1 seed. My goal is 5 bills this year and I'm gettin close! On top of it all its almost football and hunting season...definitly feeling the excitement my friend!

I'm with the down and out crowd, I still have one growing but will be an observer this year. I still want to see some ass whooping from the growers having good years and can't wait for the results.

Glad I'm not the only one who worries while away from the baby.....and not the only one who swears I won't measure for a week...and then goes down every evening. You all are making me feel better, even if I am obsessive!!
