Subject: my vines are going into my pumpkin (rookie year)

its my first year i tried to leave room for the pumpkin to grow but i think i put my loop the wrong way i have moved it back a couple of times but now its to heavy 257" its getting wedged between the main vine and a secondary i don't want to cut the vines if i don't have to

A picture would really help with recommendations on what to do.
IF it were me I would focus my energy on making sure the main vine stays in tact and there is as little stress on the stem as i could make it. If you have the sec. coming off right at the pumpkin it might have to go or even the next one down the line. By being proactive and fixing this early it can save you a lot of headache. If there is to much stress on that stem or main vine they will split or crack and that is much worse then clipping a sec or two.

i cut the secondary it still grew another 6" yesturday
