Decisions, decisions! I have two fruit on the same plant. Day 17 today. If both continue their daily gains, they will be close to 100 lbs by day 20. One is on a secondary and the other is 10 ft. out on the main. The one on the main is larger by 5 lbs. Do I cut the one off the secondary now in hopes that will increase the growth of the other or do I just need to watch them a few more days?

mouse, what do you want? 2 nice ones, or 1 slunger? If I was you, I would keep both...just in case!!! 2 on yer porch come display time, would look very kul!!! Just my humble opinion!! If yer lookin for massive (one only) is the way to go!!! Lot's of growin days left,(in TN) to grow a GIANT!!! Best of luck, whatever you decide. Peace, Wayne

Keep the main but dont cut the one on the secondary off right away...do it gradually.

You mean like a little pumpkin torture??

You could cut the secondary off that the second pumpkin is on, if it has enough rooting, and keep both pumpkins.

OMG! I never thought of that. It's worth a try. Thanks!

I may have to rethink that plan. Vines took a beating in the storm this afternoon. All I could do was stand and look. Gonna wait and see how many stand up tomorrow before I start cutting them away.
