I have done everything (soil tests, amendments, cut down trees for full sun, myco, calcium, bloom busters from Holland, drip irrigation, seaweed and fish fert., burying the main) and I still can't break 400 pounds (that is my current pace like past years). Since my patch is only 220 s.f., would that explain not passing the 400 pound barrier?? I've heard of big ones grown in small patches. I'd be happy with an 800 pounder.

It depends on the health of the plant. My second year I got a 640lb pumpkin on 250sq ft.

Ron Wallace grew the 919.6 Wallace in 2004 off his 1068 Wallace. The plant that grew the pumpkin was only 125sq. Though heck, that was off the 1068, the 1068 is MAGICAL.

The seed, is it a proven seed, the soil, the sun, is it getting enough sunlight, is it getting enough water, I know of a heavy hitter that will give his 100 gallons and thats just in the morning, later in the season.

Longmontpete grew a 1,100 pound pumpkin last year on 250 sq feet. Continue to ask lots of questions and read lots but don't give up. Still lots of growing left to do.

Wow Pmkn Cholo, that patch is tiny. Just shows to what you can grow in good soil, proper water, light, and temps...
